Loading Considerations When Paralleling Transformers
ثبت نشده
چکیده
Introduction This application guide addresses the limiting conditions of connecting transformers in parallel and loading considerations when turn ratios, impedances, and kVA ratings are different. Most transformers installed in parallel have the same kVA, turn ratios, and impedances, which can make it difficult for power engineers in industrial and commercial facilities to understand circulating currents and load sharing. However, as systems change over time, and transformers are replaced or added, users need to know the impact of paralleling transformers using different parameters.

A Better Approach to Passive Microphone Splitting
While there are clear technical advantages to active microphone splitting, operational considerations dictate the use of passive splitting of microphones in most sound reinforcement applications. Modern microphones generally require a load impedance greater than 1,000 ohms, and performance often degrades significantly with heavier loading. Since mix desk input impedances rarely exceed 1,500 ohm...
متن کاملOptimization of transformer loading based on hot-spot temperature using a predictive health model
In the future grid, power equipment will need to work with distributed generation, deregulation, and accelerated ageing. To this end, a model-based framework for the optimization of usage of power equipment is proposed. The framework uses a predictive health model of the equipment in order to optimize the usage of the equipment. In particular, the predictive health model predicts the hot-spot t...
متن کاملParalleling Dissimilar Generators: Part 3 – Load Sharing Compatibility
Generator sets cannot operate in a stable fashion in parallel with other sources unless the loading on the generator set is controlled. When generator sets are operating together on an isolated bus (that is, not grid-paralleled), they are commonly provided with equipment to allow each machine to operate at the same percentage of load as the percentage of load on the total system. This is termed...
متن کاملInvestigation of Power Factor Behavior in AC Railway System Based on Special Traction Transformers
The single-phase traction load has essentially an unbalance characteristic at the Point of Common Coupling (PCC), which injects harmonic into the utility grid. In this paper, the effect of harmonic distortion and unbalance loading are investigated simultaneously for electrical railway systems. Special traction transformers (i.e. single-phase, V/V, Wye-Delta, Scott, and Le Blanc) are used betwee...
متن کاملManagement System of Distribution Transformer Loading
This paper presents an Integrated Management System of DistributionTransformer Loading using a relational database and loss of life estimation through artificial neural networks. This fully integrated software solution allows for technical personnel to carry out studies of transformers data, such as load curves and loss of life. It permits the analysis of these results by location and substitut...
